Exterior
The body sides are nearly vertical and the side glass is unwrapped and upright. Large front and rear doors with black beltline and window moldings enhance the stature. Door handles are shared with Grand Cherokee. The doors are protected from parking lot dings by bodyside mouldings with Jeep COMMANDER incised in them. The mouldings are painted body colour on Jeep Commander or bright on Commander Limited models for a more upscale appearance. Sill mouldings provide additional protection. Large black mirrors feature an architectural theme in keeping with other details such as the roof rack.
Interior
Jeep® Commander’s interior exhibits a modern, classic theme that is high on functionality and attention to detail. The instrument panel and interior trim features a two-tone colour scheme. The instrument panel’s vertical appearance provides a continuous surface that flows from one side to the other, only interrupted by the instrument cluster. The instrument cluster is simple with two large and two small round gauges. The trim rings around the gauges are black on Jeep Commander and bright on Commander Limited.
Safety
Passive and active safety features include Electronic Stability Programme (ESP)* with Electronic Roll Mitigation, ABS and all-speed traction control, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, Front and Rear Park Assist System, multistage driver and front-passenger air bags,† and supplemental side-curtain air bags.
