Low weight, high performance.
For any given component of a car, there's a particular material which is ideally suited. Consequently, we use both aluminium and steel in the construction of the BMW 6 Series Coupé. Certain engine parts, the bonnet and the front-end structure including side walls are all made of aluminium. As well as reducing overall weight, this helps to ensure a virtually even distribution of weight between the front and rear axles, a major factor in the car's outstanding agility.

The body boasts extremely high flexural and torsional rigidity, as well as invisible deformation elements that allow the bodywork to withstand impact at up to 15 km/h without damage.
